GBM Juniors
This year we were able to offer a really exciting opportunity for the children (and the parents) within our charity doing cooking classes, taught by the wonderful Martin from The Ginger Breadman, based in Helensburgh. In October some of our families embarked on a 6 weeks course aiming to promote independent living skills and confidence. 10 children took part ages ranging from 4-17. During the course we have seen many pictures of fun and laughter but also a keen desire and interest in cooking from the children at home. With such interest and fun that was had, we hope to be able to provide these classes again in the future to continue to encourage independence in our children. This course was part funded by a council third Sector Grant and also in part by our charity Helensburgh & Lomond Autism.
Martin at The Ginger Breadman commented : Massive well done to all the Gbm juniors on completing their final cooking class with The Ginger Breadman! Matthew, Max, Harris, Dylan, Archie, Otis and Henry have made some awesome treats, including : empires, soda bread, pizza's, scones, soup and finished with their own gingerbread man. And a big shout out to all the team at Helensburgh & Lomond Autism for getting us involved.
We hope you can see from the pictures just how great a time we had. This is why we fundraise hard, to provide such valuable experiences for our children. Well Done Everyone!
